Puerto Vallarta is home to many beautiful “colonias” or neighborhoods. Most people instinctually flock towards the popular beachside neighborhoods of downtown and South Shore. However, there are beautiful colonias slightly inland as well. Las Gaviotas is one of my favorite areas that is central to so much and just a ten minute drive to the beach!
This neighborhood is famous for its quiet, tree-lined streets, oversized lots and homes, and spectacular mountain views. This is a suburban colonia mainly populated by families. It is very quiet and safe and in close proximity to many schools and commercial centers. Walking distance to Costco and La Comer is a fantastic plus! There is a beautiful public park with gigantic Parota trees called “El Cora”.
Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of selling many homes in this neighborhood. New owners just love the extra space you can get in Gaviotas. Large, double lot homes are an excellent option if you are looking for a swimming pool and yard to enjoy lounging in.
Here’s a beautiful listing in the Gaviotas neighborhood! 5 bedrooms with a pool and beautiful grounds!
Have you spent time in PV’s Gaviotas neighborhood? What do you think? I would love to hear from you in the comments below! -Christina
